Dear Counselors,

We would like to thank you for applying to the Mid Hudson Valley Camp. The number of people who want to volunteer a part of their summer has been overwhelming. The strength of our program comes from the commitment of time and compassionate spirit of our volunteers. So again, thank you in advance for all that you do and are going to do this summer! Also, we ask your patience as we use the website to disseminate information. Please read everything and check back sometimes in case there are changes made.

  • Due to the high number of counselors who applied to camp, some people may not have been accepted. The number of counselors depends on the individual need at each camp. Some camps require more than others. We apologize to anyone who was not accepted to a camp to which they applied.
  • You must let the session director know in advance if you cannot attend a camp that you signed up for. Directors plan in advance for the needs of the camp based upon who is coming. If you do not show up, you are creating problems for the camp and also preventing someone else from coming that week.

Important Reminders

  • All staff and counselors who are directly involved with camp must refrain from using alcohol or illegal drugs. Failure to comply will result in immediate dismissal from camp.
  • If you are visiting camp, you must call ahead and receive permission from the session director. Camp cannot allow overnight guests because camps are extremely full.
  • No high-school students may bring a car to camp, that includes those graduating this year.
  • Staff and counselors may park their cars by the dorms, not by the courtyard wall in the courtyard or near the brother's cottage.
  • Please remember to bring your own linens.

All staff must abide by the following policy regarding tobacco products (Cigarettes, Cigars, and Chewing Tobacco):

  • All staff and counselors who do choose to use tobacco products are asked to confine this use to the area behind the gym and next to the chapel. No other outdoor area can be used for this purpose.
  • No counselor or staff member may use tobacco products within the confines of any building.
  • No counselor or staff member may use tobacco products in the presence of a camper.
  • Any violation of the above stated policy will result in a consultation between the session and camp directors. Dismissal from camp will result for those who do not comply.
  • Any applicant who feels that he/she cannot adhere to these new policies, for whatever reason, is asked not to attend the Mid Hudson Valley Camp.

Please see counselor acceptances lists for more information.
